This is supposed to be a sonnet,
Or, maybe it really is a sonnet.
Lately, I’m not sure of anything.

I like you like how the prince loved Ariel,
Or how Allie and Noah never forgot each other,
Or how that guy passing by holds that girl’s hand…
Or maybe not any of these. Look, I just like you.
I have been stuck in this third-wheel nightmare,
And patience was never my best virtue.
Everyone sings that true love is out there;
The first time we met, I knew it was you…
Or not. Okay, for you, I’ll remember
That love needs time and a sturdy center.
